LYRIC
“THE SKY HAWK” A feature of the William Fox talkie production, “The Sky Hawk,” now being shown at the Lyric Theatre, is the excellent English speech of the actors. John Garrick, who has the principal part as Jack Bardell. an airman, crashes on the flying field and is dismissed- in disgrace. Although paralysed in both legs, ho succeeds in jL—taining a condemned machine, and in a thrilling encounter with a raiding Zeppelin brings it down in flames. Helen Chandler as Joan Allan, whom Bardell eventually marries, gives an excellent performance. Billy Bevan affords comic relief in his portrayal of a Cockney mechanic, while strong supporting roles are played by Gilbert Emery, Lennox Pawle and Lumsden Hare. There is an excellent supporting programme. EDENDALE CINEMA At the Edendale Cinema, at Sandringham Tram Terminus, identically the same programme as at the Lyric will be presented this evening.
