EMPRESS, NEWTON

“Xot So Dumb.” with the sparkling comedienne, Marion Davies, is now at the Empress Theatre, Newton. Th® popular actress is at her funniest in this comedy of errors, and her efforts to help her struggling lover were pathetic. They were so futile, h an endeavour to make everything go smoothly in a business merger which meant success to her fiance, Dulcy a house party. Her plans were excellent, and there was nothing wrong with them except that they would not go right. The wrong people fell in love: the financial magnates, who were supposed to be placated, rose a all their wrath and disaster threatened. All was saved, however, by an elopement. There is not a dull moment in the picture.
