PLAYS FIERY INNINGS AT LORD’S MADE SPECTATORS SCATTER The well-known ex-Auckland cricketer, Ces Dacre, showed some of his more sparkling style at Lord’s in the Gloucester v. Middlesex match on June 19, and caused consternation and com motion in the select grandstand at the M.C.C. headquarters by slamming five sixers there in irrepressible style. He made his first 31 in eight minutes, and scored 95 out of 119 while he was ai the wicket, including five sixes and the same number of fours. SOME DAZZLING FIREWORKS The wicket was drying out aftei a real drenching, and was very tricky Hammond (8), Dipper (2), and Sinfleld (3) all going cheaply.
