MANGAWARA RIVER BOARD
From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Thursday. Tho Mangawara River Board met yesterday', the chairman. Air. Q. J. C. Harvey’, presiding. It was decided to raise no objection to tho proclamation constituting the Taupiri River and Drainage District. A resolution was passed strongly urging upon the Minister of Internal Affairs the desirability of introducing legislation amending the Taupiri River and Drainage Act to enable'ratepayers to exercise the option whether they should be rated on an acreage basis or on the capital or unimproved valuations. Notice of motion was given that the general river rate for the current year would be 2d fqr A class lands, Id for B class, and %d for C class over the whole district.
