STEAMER DRIVEN BACK

RAN SHORT OF COAL IN STORM IN TOW FOR GISBORNE Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. The Kahika, on her way from Gisborne to Dunedin, experienced her full share of the stormy southerly that has just concluded. She could make no headway, but was driven northward and as she was running short of bunker coal the Wainui was dispatched from Gisborne on Wednesday night to her assistance. She has the Kahika in tow and is expected to reach Gisborne today. She picked up the Kahika on Thursday in the vicinity of East Cape.
