BRITISH RUGBY TEAM
SIDE CHOSEN TO PLAY AT HAMILTON TOMORROW’S MATCH Special to TUB SUN HAMILTON, Today. The following British team has been selected to play the combined Wai-kato-King Country-Thames Valley side hero tomorrow: Threequarters. Novis, Aarvold, Bowcott, Reeve. Halves.—Spong, Murray. Forwards. —Welsh, Beamish, Ivor Jones, Favell, Black, Rew Ivendrew, O'Neill. Hopes that Sobey would appear in j New Zealand have been dashed to the ground by a renewal of his knee trouble, suffered- while training at Rotorua on Wednesday. Sobey had been running about quite freely and there was every prospect that lie would turn out against Waikato, but suddenly, while running about, he wrenched his knee and as a result is again walking with his stick. Murray, who has been training with him, is included in tomorrow’s side as scrum-half and, if fit, will be a candidate for scrum-half position In the Anal Test match. As a precaution against injury tomorrow lie will wear oil his shoulder a padded protective device, held in position by light harness. On arrival at Hamilton last evening, the Whangarei contingent was met by the other 10 who had been spending a quiet few days at Rotorua. The team for tomorrow’s match was then selected, but Bassett, who was originally selected, has decided to stand down on account of slight trouble with one knee. At the moment it is uncertain who will replace him, but Bonner will probably be chosen. In other respects the team chosen is virtually up to Test strength, though expectations of changes among the inside backs have not been real--Ised, Novis, who replaced Morley, being the only newcomer to the threequarter line. Among the forwards. Welsh goes into the back of the scrum, while Kendrew replaces Parker in the front row-.
