AIRDROME FOR MASTERTON

AREA OF LAND ACQUIRED Press Association MASTERTON, Wednesday. The Wairarapa Aero Club has acquired the freehold of an area of 111 acres, about two and a-half miles from Masterton, for an airdrome. It is understood to be the only aero club in the Dominion which has acquired its own landing-ground. The ground will very shortly be put in full order for flying, and it is hoped to erect a hangar within a fortnight The Moth airplane which is to be presented to the club by the Government is expected to arrive in about two months’ time. The club already possesses a Moth airplane, which will be brought to Masterton from Martinborough as soon as the ground is ready. ' A number of pupils are awaiting instruction. The club was formed only a year ago.
