AFTER PROLONGED NEGOTIATIONS, the Waitemata County Council has secured permission from the Main Highways Board to lay down a mile of experimental concrete penetration surface on the Birkenhead-Albany main highway. If this is successful, Lincoln Road will also be surfaced. Yesterday Mr. A. Murray met ratepayers to discuss certain traffic problems.
