TYPEWRITTEN EVIDENCE
RAILWAY COMMISSION WANTS SEVEN COPIES SITTINGS START SATURDAY Citizens of Auckland who can suggest improvements in running the New Zealand railways will be able to put their ideas before the Royal Commission, which begins its sittings on Saturday morning. Evidence is invited from representative persons or organisations, but such evidence must be in the form of typewritten statements. More than this, seven copies of each statement are required. The order of reference is a lengthy one and includes tariffs, fares, staff, the new workshops, concession tickets, carriage of mails, purchase and control of Stores, transportation costs and numberless other matters concerning the railways. The sittings of the commission will be in private. Mr. R. Masters, of Stratford, is chairman. He has with him Messrs. .1. D. Hall, Christchurch, R. W. McVit.ly and Mr. J. Marchbanks, of Wellington.
