Bright talkie shorts complete the programme. Edith Wharton’s novel, "The Children,” a best seller of 1928, and a popular serial in "The Pictorial Review,” will be seen in Paramount’s ftlmisation, "The Marriage Playground," at the Strand Theatre from next Friday. Mary Brian and Fredric March are co-featured in the leading romantic roles. The picture was directed by Lothar Mendes, who scored a big success with Clara Bow’s "Dangerous Curves,” and also as the director of Charles Rogers's and Nancy Carroll’s "Illusion.”

Ruth Chatterton can act, write and compose. She has been a stage and screen star for the past 10 years. Two of her plays have been produced on Broadway and more than half-a-dozen inusicaPcompositions are accredited to her.
