MESSAGE IN BOTTLE
PARTY STRANDED ON ISLAND? REPORT TO POLICE Press Association WELLINGTON. Today. The Police Department advises that the inspector of police at Nelson was telephoned to on Monday afternoon by the postmaster at French Pass. wh*> said that Mr. Graham Hayter, of D’Urville Island, had picked up a beer bottle on the beach on Sunday morning containing the following message: “To anyone who finds this: We are stranded on Rosalie Island. Please rescue us. —Delvert Hadley.” The police state that the message Is undated and Is written on a piece of paper which looks as though it had been torn from an exercise book. So far the police officials have no idea whether the message is genuine.
