Derby, first innings, made 342 (Storer 123). H. Smith took 6 for 56. In the second innings the team lost 4 for 122. Essex, first innings, made 297. Derby won on the first innings. Gloucester, first innings, got 249 (Dipper 72). Geary took 5 for 51. Leicester, first innings, got 69. Sinfield took 5 for 25 and Parker 5 for 32. The team followed on and lost one for 30. Gloucester won on the first innings. Nottingham, first innings, made 185. Beveridge took 5 for 57. Middlesex, first innings, got 184. Larwood took 8 for 51. Nottingham won on the first innings. Y'orkshire. first innings, made 203 (Oldroyd 82) against Warwick. The match was drawn.
Hampshire, first innings, got 145 R. Tyidesley took 7 for 51. In the secohd they lost 6 for 241. declared (Brown, not out 106). Lancashire, first innings, got 152. Kennedy took 5 for 54. In the second innings one was lost for 113. Lancashire won on the first innings. Somerset, first innings, made 138. Langridge took 7 for 38. In the second innings no wickets were lost for 11. Sussex, first innings, got 99. W bite took 7 for 47. Somerset won on the first innings. Glamorgan, first innings, made 224 and in the second lost 8 for 193, declared. Worcester, first innings, made 9 1 and in the second 105, Glamorgan won by 215 runs.
