ASSOCIATION’S ANNUAL MEETING FAREWELL TO MISS KIMURA iMiss Yuki Kimura, who left today for Honolulu to attend the Pan-Pacific Conference, gave a brief address at the 44th annual meeting of the Y.W.C.A., last evening. She was given a farewell by members of the association. Speaking on the deeper side of the association’s ideals, Aliss Kimura said she greatly admired its work and atmosphere in Auckland. She congratulated the members on their achievements during the association’s 4-1 years’ existence. At the conclusion of the meeting many of tho members took advantage of the opportunity of bidding Aliss Kimura a personal farewell. She was presented with a bouquet of violets on behalf of the girls of the association In her address the president, Mrs J. A. Bradstreet, paid a tribute to ur members of the board of directors and io all the association’s other workers Exclusive of the directors there were L2O women working on committees and Mrs. Bradstreet expressed gratitude to them for their voluntary services and financial assistance.
“There is harmony in the ranks of the association,” she said, “a greater spirit of service is shown by the girls a wider international outlook has been obtained, and th-ere is evidence of deep spiritual interest in all the work.” FINANCIAL POSITION

Rudd, expressed satisfaction at the financial position as shown by the accounts Faced last year with an overdraft of £985. the association had met the situation with courage, and the posi Lion was now very much improved Tho hostel and cafeteria were both good sources of income, showing credit balances of £ 900 and £lB7 respectively. Strict economy and careful management had enabled the overdraft to be reduced to £B5l. “As a deficit of £1,142 Is estimated in tho budget for the ensuing year, further rigid care will be required.” said Airs. Rudd. This deficit, together with the overdraft yet remaining, made a formidable sum to be obtained With increased membership and further co-operation among the coni mittees. however, it was hoped a satis factory position would again be shown at the next annual meeting. Supper was held after the meeting and Mrs. Bradstreet was presented with a bouquet of Iceland poppies. A physical culture display was given by Aliss I*. Phillipps’s pupils and a group of girl citizens sang the “Skye Boat Song.”
