EMPRESS, NEWTON

Inspired by tho Arctic explorations of Wilkins. Amundsen and Byrd. “The Lost Zeppelin,” which is at present at the Empress, Newton, and West End, Ponsonby', Theatres, is a noble attempt to depict the tremendous difficulties tho explorers had to contend with. A monster airship leaves on an Antarctic expedition, which is destined to end in disaster. In spite of his lieutenant’s confessed love for his wife, who reciprocates his love, tho explorer decides to continue with tho expedition rather than involve it in a public scandal. Some dramatic incidents are provided when events following the final wrecking of the dirigible subdue conflicting human passions.
