RUGBY PLAYER’S DEATH
FORMER THAMES RESIDENT From Our Oicn Correspondent THAMES, Monday. The late Mr. James Farr, who died as the result of injuries received in the Old Boys v. Mayfield same at Ashburton on Saturday, was very well-known and popular in Thames, where he was formerly employed in the Magistrate’s Court. He was a member of the College Old Boys’ team, playing both as wing-threequarter and in the pack. A modest unassuming young man. he had a host of friends throughout the district. He also took a great interest in defence matters, and he d a commission in the cadets. He left here three yejfrs ago on transfer to Ashburton.
