SUN’S POPULARITY CAMPAIGN

FINAL LIST OF CONTESTANTS PUBLISHED TODAY

145 Contestants Qualified to Win Prizes

Today the final list in The Sun’s popularity competition is published. There are 145 contestants who are qualified to win prizes and but four days remain to decide the final winners. The final stage of The Sun’s groat campaign has now been reached. But four days remain and then the groat distribution of prizes will take place. This is positively the last few days of subscription-getting and contestants should put forth every effort to go over the top before the close. Subscriptions may be turned in up to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, and the regular subscription votes will be allowed. Subscriptions may be extended for any term and the proportionate extension of votes will be given. Contestants may pay for any number of years and the subscription money will be held intact until the subscribers’ names are turned in by the contestant. Contestants should see to it that all remittances between now and the close of the campaign are made either in cash or bank draft, as no personal cheque for more than £5 can be accepted by the Campaign Department. CONTESTANTS APPOINT JUDGES Every contestant is requested to appoint some person to act as judge in the final count of votes at the Civic Theatre on Saturday evening. No notification will be sent the judges by the Campaign Manager. The contestant must give his judge a letter of authority, which he will present at the Civic Theatre and which will admit him to the judges’ enclosure. The

judges are requested to assemble at the Civic Theatre at 6.30 sharp. This is important, as it is the desire of the management to have the count finished as quickly as possible, so that the prizes may be awarded immediately after the close of the show. Contestants and friends of contestants who desire to see the show and the prizes awarded should make reservations as early as possible. The totals will be read during the intermissions in the picture and the prizes will be awarded from the stage at the close of the performance. CONTESTANTS SHOULD CHECK BALLOTS The Campaign Manager again wants to sound the call. Contestants must bring to the office all secret ballots held in their possession and deposit them in the ballot box. Contestants who have lost vote ballots or who are not sure whether they have received all their ballots or not should check them with the campaign manager prior to depositing them in the ballot box. No mistakes will be rectified after the ballots are deposited in the ballot box. The Campaign Department will be open all day Friday and contestants who cannot come in any other day are requested to come in Friday and check their ballots. The judges will take into consideration only such ballots as are in the ballot box. If a contestant fails to deposit his votes in the box they will not be counted. Get all your reserve ballots in immediately so that they can be placed In the ballot box to be counted by the judges on Saturday night.
