A report from'Hikurangi states that serious flooding again occurred at the Hikurangi Coal Company’s mine yesterday. submerging all the machinery including the pumping plant, except one small pump, which is attempting ineffectively to cope with the inrush. All the employees, numbering 250, have been driven from the workings where the water has attained a depth of 14 feet and is rising rapidly.
