CANADA’S BIG DAY
TRADE ISSUE IS PROMINENT IN GENERAL ELECTIONS LEADER’S FINAL APPEAL OTTAWA, Saturday. The Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. W. L. Mackenzie King, in a last appeal to the electors before the General Election. after outlining the issues, said: “We have made it our purpose to lift your eyes to the great mountain peaks of inter-Empire trade and co-oper-ation, upon which at this juncture the future of the Dominion so largely depends.” Mr. King urged such support for the Liberal candidates by the electorate as would give a message to the British Isles and the Dominions that "Canada gives its approval in no uncertain terms to the policy of an everexpanding trade within the British Empire."
