MAJESTIC
“SO LONG LETTY” In smart modern dress, “So Long, Letty,” that good old stage farce, has been transferred to the audible screen, and is now delighting audiences at the Majestic Theatre. It is fast and furious farce, going at such a pace that it is difficult to .keep step with the laughs. Truly, the story of “So Long, Letty,” is even better material for the talking screen than it was for the stage. The familiar Letty is presented with all her laugh-provoking tricks by Charlotte Greenwood, the elongated comedienne, who plays this role on the stage. * Miss Greenwood is, without a doubt, the gayest of the comediennes on stage or screen today. Her fun-making is a joy, and she is capably assisted in making this picture the good fun it is by Patsy Ruth Miller, Grand Withers, Bert Roach and Claude Gillingwater. As to the story: Harry’s wife is too domestic, and Tommy’s wife is too gay. Tommy wants to stay at home evenings, but Harry loves to trot around. They exchange wives, and the fun begins. And the fun lasts until the excit•ng finish. At the Majestic a particularly fine supporting programme of talkies is also being presented.
