BELLE O’MINE
Owner Pope's Bad Luck UNABLE REVISIT EPSOM Writing to a friend at Epsom, W. Pope, owner-trainer of Belle* o’ Mine, which raced at the Auckland winter fixture, states that since returning home he nearly lost the mare. Belle o’ Mine arrived at Richmond from Onehunpa in good order, but shortly after she contracted internal disorder, with serious complication*. She pulled through safely, but her owner attributes this good fortune to the care and attention of the “vet ~ who never left her for eight hour*. The daughter of Wairoa Belle has in consequence been turned out for a good spell, which has put an end to the Richmond trainer’s proposed vi*j* to Auckland for the relief fixture. The Nelsonian has a couple of youngsters to educate, one being bv Travis Axworthy, and the other a son of Real Guy. Mr. Pope mentions that L. Berkett is contemplating a trip to Auckland after the Addington carnival with a couple of candidates for the special meeting at Epsom.
