CROWDS SEE GOOD PLAY FOR DAVIS CUP CHALLENGE ROUND SCORES United P.A.—By Telegraph—Copyright Reed. 11.55 a.m. PARIS, Friday. Crowded stands at the Auteuil Stadium witnessed an excellent afternoon’s tennis In the challenge round of the Davis Cup. Tilden heat Borotra, 2—6, 7—5, 6—4, 7 —5. Cochet beat Lott, 6—4, 6—2. 6—2. Borotra began cautiously, but Til•den found his length in the second set and drew up from I—4 to four-all. After that the Frenchman never looked like a winner, although he pulled up from 2—5 to 5—6 in the last set and finished almost at the point of collapse. Cochet soon assumed mastery in his match against Lott, and the issue never seemed in doubt. Cochet made many excellent placings down the sidelines, varied by judicious approaches to the net. Crafty cross court work kept Lott on the run till the end. Cochet and Brugnon meet Allison and Van Ryn tomorrow.
