PRICE OF SPIRITS

DRAUGHT MAY NOT CHANGE BOTTLED BRANDS DEARER No decision has yet been reached in Auckland regarding the retail price of spirits, wines and beer. The Licensed Victuallers’ Association met last Wednesday but no conclusions were reached. A tfombined meeting of all those concerned in the wine and spirit trade will be held next week when the increases, if any. will be decided on. It is expected that all branded and bottled spirits will be increased in price, but there will not be any change in the price of draught whisky. This means, of course, that bulk spirits will come back into their own again. Before the last tariff changes bulk spirits were just as popular as the proprietory linfcs, but then the public demand changed. Everyone wanted the individual brands. It is expected that the demand for draught spirit will be greater when the new schedule of prices comes into operation, probably next month.
