CAR CAPSIZES

LORRY’S AXLE BREAKS An unusual motor-car accident occurred on the Great South Road at about 12.30 p.m. yesterday. The axle of a heavy motor-lorry broke as it passed from the concrete to the metal at the end of the concrete near Papakura, and the vehicle swerved to the right, striking a small motor-car going in the opposite direction. The car capsized, but no one in either the car or the lorry was injured. There was a woman passenger in the car besides the driver.
