RADIO TALKIES Invention of Berlin Engineer
DIFFERS FROM TELEVISION A way of sending talkies in colours over the wireless has been invented by a Berlin engineer, Albert Alexander Ahronheim, according to his own announcement made before fellow-technicians. His Invention will, in the not too distant future, allow the householder to sit at home in his own armchair. not only listen to distinguished speakers and clever entertainers, but •too see them in their natural colours, down to the exact shade of their hair. Herr Ahronheim declared his invention differs from television methods hitherto discovered, the latter being based on the principle of dividing the picture into tiny sections. Heavy light shades are transmitted by toeans of stronger or weaker current 'The new invention is based on the f act that each colour has a different w ave-length. Ahronheim s invention transmits the picture with varying *ave-lengths. The person receiving th® picture may employ as limited or ranges of wave-lengths as he de•ires, thus seeing only the main colours or receiving the whole gamut d°wn to delicate shades. Herr Ahronheim also asserts that he has solved the problem of placing the Moving picture before the receiver toll-size. He says his method will •Uow projecting the picture on a small 0T large screeu as desired. lie added toat the cost of the new contrivance b® about that of a loud-speaker.
