NEW P. AND T. GUILD
NO SUPPORT IN THAMES From Our Own Correspondent THAMES, Wednesday. No support for the new movement to establish a new postal officers’ guild will be forthcoming from the, Thames postal district, which includes Paeroa, Coromandel, Tauranga and Whakatane, according to statements made to a Sun representative today. The first intimation was received on Thursday afternoon and the local branch of the Post and Telegraph Employees’ Association got in touch with its members throughout the postal district at once. A meeting was held that night and a resolution passed deprecating any move which would tend to disrupt the present association and calling upon the members to stick to their own association. A prominent official says that no move wil 1 be made from here to form a branch of the new guild, but that if one were started there would be a large number of officers who would be eligible but it is doubtful if they would join up.
