LOWER GRADE LEAGUE

OUT AND ABOUT AMONG JUNIOR PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP TABLES The management committee of the Auckland Rugby League on Wednesday evening again discussed the request of the Junior Management Committee that a junior representative team be sent on tour this season. A decision will be made next Wednesday week, when details of the cost of the trip of the junior representatives last season are available. * * - The first rounds of all junior grades have now been completed. The follo\ving table sets out the positions of the teams in the fourth grade: Points.

In tho third open grade Ellerslie beat Marist by 10 points to 8 on Saturday. Ellerslie, with the exception of McShane and Jones, seemed to lose its dash in the second half and was lucky to escape defeat. Jones was always in the picture behind the scrum. He varied his tactics very nicely. Herring, for Marist, was not a success at fullback, but played a bustling game when moved into the forwards. Pell, on the wing, played an outstanding game. The Korthcote sixths triumphed over Ellerslie by three points after a hard, interesting game. There was little difference between the two teams, but the Northcote boys seemed in better condition. Stewart played well for Ellerslie. ... The Marist sevenths Recorded another win on Saturday by Jive points. Hayes, after some weeks of mediocre play, returned to form and played well. It wti a pity that Marist could not field its full strength earlier in the season, as it would probably have gone near winning the grade.
