OIL BORE BLOWS OUT

MOTUROA DRILLING GEAR DAMAGED FLOW OF GAS AND MUD Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, Today. The Moturoa Oilfields. Limited’s hore this morning blew out without warning, sending up great gushes of mud that coated the derrick and spread over a wide area. The bore was down 1,740 feet, and the force of the gas blew the drilling gear up till it stuck with the amount of debris gathered. Then the gas, gathering force, blew the gear clean out of the hole up SO feet, twisting the wire ropes and doing damage to the tackle. The gear came straight down like a huge spear, burying itself 20 feet in the ground. The blow continued for a-quarter of an hour and was followed by a continuous flow of inflammable gas.
