FIRE DAMAGES OFFICE

OUTBREAK AT TAIHAPE Press Association TAIHAPE, Today. The office occupied by Mr. F. M. Marlow, commission agent, at Taihape, was badly gutted by fire this morning. The contents were severely damaged or totally destroyed. Several pound notes were burnt and a comparatively new typewriter and a quantity of cutlery received much damage. The books and records of several bodies of which Mr. Marlow is secretary were destroyed. The fire brigade was quickly on the scene and prevented the fire from spreading to the Gretna Hotel and sample-rooms adjoining Mr. Marlow’s office.
