BRITAIN MOVES TO RATIFY LONDON NAVAL PACT BILL IN COMMONS LONDON, Wednesday. The Paxliamentary Secretary to tht Admiralty, Mr. C. G. Ammon, iu the House of Commons today moved the second reading of the Bill to ratify tho London Naval Treaty. Commander A. R. J. Soutliby, Conservative member for tlie Epsom division of Surrey, said be considered that the measure should be delayed until after the forthcoming Imperial Conference. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Stanley Baldwin, asked whether the Government had received any assurance from the Dominions, including the Irish Free State, that they would give effect to legislation necessary to carry out the terms of the Bill? The F’irst Lord of the Admiralty, Mr. A. V. Alexander, said the Government had received indications from all the Dominions represented at the conference that they intended fully to recognise the treaty. The Government had no doubt that the Dominions would pass the necessary legislation to enable them to carry out their obligations. If there was any doubt it could be. settled at the Imperial Conference, but there was no reason why the House of Commons should delay its Vatification. The motion for the second reading was carried.
