FILMS OF DOMINION

TO ENCOURAGE TRADE WITH AMERICA AESTHETIC AND COMMERCIAL To help encourage an interchange of trade between America and New Zealand, films depicting the economic, commercial and social life of the four chief centres of the Dominion are to be take by Mr. C. F. Kunkel, assistant Trade Commissioner for the United States. The moving pictures will be shown before American Chambers of Commerce, manufacturers’ associations and exporters’ and importers’ organisations. While in Auckland, Mr. Kunkel intends to take pictures of the.harbour, one of the banks, the Dilworth Building, some of the hotels, the parks, the University College, King’s College, a view from Mount Eden, and other scenes. The films are to be from 400 ft. to 500 ft. in length. The Government Publicity Department is giving valuable co-operation to the scheme, the intention being to convey to American business men an idea of New Zealand's modern commercial and aesthetic facilities. Mr. Kunkel hopes that the exhibition of the pictures in the United States will lead to greater use being made of the New Zealand market by ’ American business men.
