FOR £lo,ooo

PHAR LAP AND SOULTON BACKED FOR TWO CUPS Soulton, which looks like being a rival to Tom Pinch for the position of first favourite in the Caulfield Cup, is trained by Lou Robertson at Mordialloc. Soulton was coupled with Phar Lap in the Melbourne Cup soon after the Cup entries were announced, and the double had further mention recently. Soulton has shown form in Brisbane and Sydney. ( His present trainer captured the Caulfield Cup about fifteen years ago with Lavendo, ridden by F. Dempsey. Soulton has not appeared in public since he went to Melbourne, but he is doing well in his spring preparation. The double of Soulton and Phar Lap has been supported for £IO,OOO, and the support is reported to have come from the right quarter.
