SOCIETY’S ANNUAL MEETING From Our Oicn Correspondent TE AWAMUTU, Today. Dr. J. Roberton presided at the annual meeting of the Te Awamutu Beautifying Society, held on Monday evening. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, the Mayor. Mr. C. G. Downes: president, Dr. Roberton; vicepresidents, Mrs. R. Dawson and Mr. A. E. Paterson; secretary and treasurer, Mr. D. Bockett; committee, Miss Bockitt, Mesdames C. G. Downes, C. W. Rickit, J. Oliphant, W. H. Davis, W. Locke, Messrs. A. J. Shepherd, C. W. Rickit, W. H. Davis. J. G. Rudpath, H. C. Rainey, J. Oliphant, M. H. Williams, C. G. Downes, with power to add. Mr. G. O. Jourdain was appointed auditor. An offer by Mr. M. H. Williams to provide the necessary trees and shrubs if the society would undertake the planting of the roadway from Alexandra Street to the railway station* was accepted with thanks. The society has a credit balance of £27 14s, with only one small liability.
