ESCAPED PRISONER The theft of a pair of trousers from a City Council hut in Avondale leads police to believe that Gomez, the escaped prisoner, is still in that locality. It appears that somebody slept in the hut, leaving with the trousers this morning. A large party of police is still searing the district, FOOTBALLER FINED £lO Edward Roebuck, who assaulted the referee in a football match at Okato recently, was today fined £lO In the New Plymouth Magistrate's Court, On a charge of using indecent language he was fined £1 and ordered to pay costs totalling £2 12s.
