A Credit to New Zealand With a total expenditure in this country of over £1,000,000 annually, and with employment for 500 factory employees, General Motors, Ltd., at Petone, is undoubtedly a credit to New Zealand. Dependent on the support of New Zealanders for Its existence and continued growth, General Motors has contributed to the Dominion’s prosperity and that of its people by embarking upon an etxensive local purchase policy. As more and more Dominion products become available they are being purchased and incorporated in the New Zealand-built motor-car. Local woollen fabrics, as previously stated, are used in the making of cushions and are woven wholly on New Zealand looms from pure New Zealand wool. Approximately 150,000 super feet of native timber is used annually in building commercial bodies. New Zealand now produces some remarkably fine chromium plated bumper bars, bumperettes, luggage grids and uo time was lost in using these on several models.
