Minns, 8.A., Rhodes scholar and Auckland Rugby representative, was the guest of honour at a very enjoyable farewell party given by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Minns, in the Parish Hall, N orthcote. The hall had been transformed with ferns and foliage and blue and white streamers, while in the supper-room, iceland poppies made a gay splash of colour. Mr. W. Mayall’s orchestra provided splendid music and the guests spent a happy evening dancing. Mrs. Minns, who was gowned in black with relief of canton jade, was assisted in receiving the guests by Miss Enid Minns, Miss Joyce Minns, Mrs. T. Joll and Mrs. R. Featherstone. Miss Enid Minns wore a period frock of jade floral taffeta, and Miss Joyce Minns was wearing turquoise blue velvet and georgette. Mrs. Joll’s gown was of black crepe de soie, and was relieved with touches of cream and scarlet. Mrs. Featherstone had cream georgette relieved with palest blue and satin. Among those present were the Mayoress of Northcote, Mrs. A. E. Gre'enslade, who chose black georgette trimmed with beige. Mrs. G. B. Minns, wearing black embroidered taffeta relieved with royal blue: Mrs. J. Potter, floral silk ninon; A. Campbell, lemon and gold figured moire Mrs. Righton, black satin beaute; M 6 James, black lace and georgette, wii.i coatee of embossed ring velvet: Mrs Wilkes, black georgette and net: Mrs. A. H. Harding, flame crepe de chine, with overdress of beige lace; Mrs. T. Swinbank, rose taffeta; Mrs. F. C. Williams, alice blue trimmed with gold; Mrs. G. D. O’Leary, black and apple green georgette; Mrs. O. Honeycombe, coral pink crepe de chine and taffeta; Mrs. A. E. H. Harrison, black mirror velvet; Mrs. R. F. Featherston, cream georgette relieved with blue and silver; Mrs. L. G. Fielder, pink taffeta and georgette; Miss Jean Mclntosh, black georgette and figured tulle, Miss Grace Joll, embossed orange chenille and georgette. Miss Karo McGill, wearing lacquer red crepe de chine, with yoke of ecru lace; Miss M. Harrison, nile green taffeta and georgette; Miss Isabel Hunt, wineberry crepee de chine; Miss R. Walker, daffodil georgette; Miss S. Hunt, diabolo red crepe de chine; Miss V. Jamieson, floral taffeta; Miss Doreen Harrison, rainbow lame and blue crepe de chine; Miss D. Wrightson, apple green georgette, with lace; Miss Rona Harrison, apricot crepe de chine; Miss J. Robertson, powder blue georgette and tulle; Miss M. Lockie, powder blue taffeta; Miss E. Roberts, flowered ninon and tulle; Miss Joyce Wernham. blue georgette and taffeta; Miss Mollie Russell, blue crepe de chine and silver; Miss R. Caley, mauve taffeta frock, silver trimmings; Miss M. Mawson, moonlight blue georgette and embroidered crepe de chine. Miss P. Johnson, in nile green moire; Miss Deena Wilkes, ankle-length black floral taffeta, with overdress of lace; Miss Mabel Hughes, shell pink georgette; Miss G. Joll, rose pink georgette and net; Miss Florence Jones, almond green georgette and diamente; Miss Irene E. Turner, flame moire velvet; Miss M. McCluggage, peach pink flowered broche satin; Miss N. Harrisson, apricot georgette trimmed with taffeta; Miss P. Aickiri. pale blue taffeta relieved with rose; Miss F. J. Mason, jade georgette, with embossed velvet bridge coat ; Miss G.
