MISSING FIVE DAYS

DISAPPEARANCE OF CITY BUSINESS MAN

SEARCH AROUND ALBANY

An extended search of the AlbanySilverdale district has yielded no trace of Mr. William Davidson Munn, a member of a well-known City firm of manufacturers’ representatives, who has been missing from his home in Devonport since Thursday evening. Several residents of Albany yesterday informed Mr. Munn’s relatives that a man answering his description had been seen in their district on Friday morning, and a police search of the locality followed.

Mr. Munn lives at 17 Lake Road, Devonport, and is 65 years of age. He was last seen at Devonport on Thursday evening about eight o’clock and was then wearing a grey suit, a light grey overcoat and a grey hat. He is 6ft 3in in height and is thinlybuilt, with grey hair and a fresh complexion. He wears pince-nez.

It is understood that when Mr. Munn left his home he intended to visit friends in the City. On arriving at the Devonport Wharf he found that he had just missed a ferry-boat. He decided not to wait for the next boat and accordingly left the wharf. His movements since then are not known.
