ESCAPING MAN FELLED BY POLICE BULLET NOW IN HOSPITAL Reed. 10.40 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. There was a sensational occurrence at Inverell, when Clifford Mason, a prisoner, escaped from a lock-up. A keeper and two policemen gave chase and fired three shots over Mason’s head without effect. The fourth bullet, however, entered the prisoner’s back and although he kept on he was soon captured and sent to hospital.
