SUBURBAN THEATRES
The Alexandra Theatre, Green Lane, is showing “The Bishop Murder Case,” an exciting all-talking mystery thriller of detective work. It is aS. S. van Dine story, with Basil Rathbone in the role of Philo Vance, amateur detective, who salves the murders. Excellent supports are also shown. The Regent Theatre, Eusom, is showing "Side Street,” an unusual story of American underworld life and of brother love. The three Moore brothers appear in the leading role. The Do Luxe Theatre, Mount Albert, is showing "Her Unborn Child,” a powerful story beautifully told of mother-love and the consequences of reckless love. It is interpreted by an all-star cast. The West End Theatre, Ponsonby Road, is showing "The Great Gabbo,” a tense story of stage life, with Eric von Stroheim as a half-mad ventriloquist, and Betty Compson opposite him.
