Notice is hereby given that in pursuanee and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Sections 51 to 5'J of the Rating Act, 1925, Section 108 of the Road Boards Act, 19u8, Section 52 of the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926. and Sections 21 to 23 of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, the amendments to the said Acts, and of all other powers it enabling, it is the intention of the Ostend Road Board at a meeting to be held at the Office of the Board on SATURDAY, the 2nd day of August, 1930, to make and levy for the year commencing on the Ist day of April, 1930. and ending on the 31st day of March, 1931, the following rates, viz.:— (1) A General Rate of Twopence and eight-tenths of a penny (2 8-10ths) in the £. (2) A Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of seven-tenths of a penny (7-10ths) in the £. (3) The Special Rate (recurrent) to provide interest and sinking fund on special loans to remain as struck, but that only an amount sufficient to meet requirements be collected as follows: A rate of one penny (Id) in the £. All the foregoing rates to be levied on the Unimproved Value of all rateable property within the Ostend Road District, and to be payable in one instalment" on the 16th day of August, 1930, at the office of the Clerk and Collector, land Street, Auckland. Notice is hereby- given that the One Tree Hill Borough Council proposes at its meeting to be held on Wednesday, August 6, 1930. to consider a motion to apply- to the Local Government Loans Board for its sanction to the borrowing of a sum of £140,000 for Road Improvements, comprising Kerbing and Channelling. Bitumen Sealing or other surfacing of Roads, Construction of Footpaths, provision for Stormwater Drainage, etc. Any person having any objection to the proposed application is called . upon to submit same in writing to the One Tree Hill Borough Council, not later than the day- preceding the said meeting. Pursuant to Section IS of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a Poll of the Ratepayers of the Borough of Newmarket, taken on the tenth day of July. 1930, on the proposal of the Newmarket Borough Council to borrow the sum of £29,000 for the following purposes:— (a) The acquisition of Lots 1. 6. 7. and S of Section 2, Broadway and Station Street, with object of widening Station Street in conformity- with Couiv cil’s town planning proposals: (b) To meet claims for compensation that may arise from persons injuriouslyaffected, in terms of the Town Planning Act, 1926, and its amendments. The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 19S. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 398. Informal, therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
