PLAZA AND TIVOLI
“THE BIG PARTY” Entertainment is the keynote of any party, so it is not surprising that it should be a feature of “The Big Party,” the Fox Movietone laugh feasts that is daily filling the seats of the Plaza and Tivoli Theatres. Often hilarious and always funny, “The Big Party” is classed by many as one of the most amusing talking pictures of recent months. The theme of a shop girl’s romance has been given a new twist by the director, John G. Blystone. Presented in a kaleidoscopic setting that ranges from the rusty to the ritzy, decorated with breath-taking scenes of elaborate Fifth Avenue shops with a number of irresistible new tunes interpolated and presented to an appreciative public as entertainment plus. Dixie Lee shares leading honours with Sue Carol and Walter Catlett, and the support is headed by such screen favourites as Frank Albertson, “Whispering” Jack Smith and Richard Keene. Bright supports are being presented at both theatres.
