OPIUM SMOKING
CHINESE CHARGED Press Association, HASTINGS, Today. What is believed to be the first case of its kind in Hastings was heard before justices today, when three Chinese were charged with committing offences in connection with opium. Len Chun (60) was charged that, being the occupier of premises, he allowed the smoking of opium. Louie Wing (53) was charged with having iu his possession pipes for the use of opium. Ah Mong (2S) was charged with having utensils for opium smoking. A remand was granted till Wednesday. Bail, £2OO, was allowed.
