STOLE BICYCLE

YOUTH’S PROBATION EXTENDED Remanded for sentence from last week, Eric William Lanham, a labourer, aged 19, who appeared at the Police Court today, was admitted to probation for a term of six months. Lanham was charged with stealing a bicycle valued at £lO. on July 9. the property of F. IC Hutchinson, of Auckland. “I have the report of the probation officer on this youth,” said Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. “Though he was formerly admitted to one year’s probation, he stole the bicycle in order to get money to go home to Dunedin. He does not seem to be altogether responsible for his actions. Under the circumstances, I will extend his term of probation for another six months, restitution of the value of the bicycle to be made.”
