WEDDING AT PONSONBY

IVORY FROCK WITH TOUCHES OF SILVER

JACKSON—PARK On Saturday afternoon a pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Stephen’s Church, Ponsonbj*, by the Rev. Fraser Barton, when Bessie, fifth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Park, of Whata Whata, was married to David, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, of Ponsonby. The. bride, who was given away by her grandfather, Mr. Gane, wore a gown of ivory satin, with silk tulle overdress, finished with large hip bow, and silver trimmings. A beautiful tulle veil was arranged fan-shape, with a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of white blooms, with touches of pink. The bridesmaid, Miss Gladys Kempthome, of Hamilton, wore a frock of apricot crepe de chine, with vandyked frills and silver trimmings, forming an uneven hemline. Her head-dress was of tulle and silver, and she carried a bouquet to tone. Mrs. J. Parris, the bridegroom’s sister, was matron of honour, in a gown of pink and green embossed georgette, forming an uneven hemline. Her hat was of silk crinoline, with pink velvet flowers, and she carried a shower bouquet to tone. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. G. Mackay as best man and Mr. RCunningham as groomsman. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Ponsonby Cruising Club’s Hall, where the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. Jackson, received the guests in a frock of black ring velvet, trimmed with chenille, and hat to tone. The bride’s aunt, Mrs. Kempthorne, of Hamilton, wore a frock of saxe blue repp relieved with fawn crepe de chine and hat to tone.
