WAIUKU TOWN BOARD
A meeting of the "Waiuku Town Board was held on Monday evening, Mr J J- A. James presiding. The Franklin Electric-Power Board advised that no reduction could be made in connection with the cost of street lighting. „ It was resolved that Messrs. Winstone, Limited, be thanked for the offer of a drum of emoleum, and it was decided to give the mixture a trial on a piece of road near the railway crossing in Queen Street. The board decided to donate £2 2s toward the Waiuku War Memorial of sympathy with Mr. H M Barriball, in the recent death of" his mother, and also sympathy with the other members of the late Mrs. Barriball’s family, was passed. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. A. Hanna, formerly solicitor to the board, was also passed.
