MUSIC WEEK CHAIRMAN
Although not a musician, Mr. A. J. Hutchinson is a firm believer in the value of music to the community. As chairman of the Music Week Committee Mr. Hutchinson’s practical business experi-
ence and organising ability is standing the movement in very good stead. Good progress is being made by a strong and representative committee and a full and varied programme for Music Week, which commences on August 16 and concludes on August 23, is assured.
Music Week Singing Realising the value of community singing, not only in encouraging an appreciation of music, but also in encouraging singing as a relaxation, the music week committee has arranged for a full programme of community singing in the luncheon hours throughout Music Week. The musTc week committee, which has a number of leading artists at its disposal, is also arranging for soloists to sing at each session. This is part of the general effort being exerted between August 16 and 23 to bring the community back to music.
