EXCURSIONS FROM ALL OVER PROVINCE FARES CUT RIGHT DOWN For the convenience of Rugby enthusiasts -wishing to visit Auckland for the third Rugby Test, the Rail-way-Department has in hand the most complete and comprehensive arrangements that have ever been made for a football match in the Auckland Province. Ou July 24 and 23, that is the Thursday and Friday, holiday excursion tickets are being issued to Auckland from any station!on Jhe North Island Main Trunk Line and branches and also the Kaihu section. These tickets are available for return until the Saturday following the match. Return tickets at single fares, by special night trains on the 25th, and by the special ordinary trains on the 26th arriving in time for the match, are also being issued. Briefly the special train arrangements are as follows: A train for Auckland will leave Opua at 9.0 p.m. and Whangarei at 11.55 p.m. on Friday, July 25, arriving Auckland at G.U. a.m. on the Saturday. This train will stop where required from Opua to Whangarei inclusive and at Maungaturoto, Helensville. Mt. Eden and Newmarket. A train to connect with this special from Opua will leave Okaihau at 8.25 p.m.

A further train will leave Whangarei at 3.30 a.m. on the day of the match arriving in Auckland at 9.46 a.m. This train will take passengers from all stations. Whangarei to Helensville inclusive. A train to connect with this special will leave Kirikopuni at 3.35 a.m. RETURN TRAINS The return trains for the North will run as follows; For Opua and Okaihau at 7.0 p.m. after the match and for Whangarei and Kirikopuni at 7.20 p.m. after the match. For football enthusiasts from the Tauranga District a train will leave the strand, Tauranga, at 12.43 a.m. on July 26, and arrive Auckland at 9 a.m. A special train will leave on the return journey at 5.30 p.m. after the match.

Catering for the Rotorua district passengers, a special train will leave Rotorua at 1.55 a.m. and arj rive Auckland at 9 a.m. The return j train will leave Auckland at 5.30 p.rn. To enable the King Country people to see the match a special train has been arranged to leave Taumarunui at 2 a.m., arriving Auckland at 10.13 а. This train will leave Auckland on the return journey at 6.20 p.m. ' after the match. WAIKATO TRAINS ! The Waikato football enthusiasts are being well catered for. A special train will leave Hamilton ai. б. a.m. with limited stops and will arrive Auckland at. 9.17 a.m. Another train will leave Hamilton at 7.5 a.m. and arrive Auckland at 11.4'a.m. The special trains from Taumarunui. Rotorua and Tauranga will also be available for Hamilton people. The Cllenafton branch people will be catered for by a special train leaving Glenafton at 6.10 a.m., which will connect with the 6.10 a.m. train from Hamilton, reaching Auckland at 9.17 a.m. The return special train for Hamilton and Glenafton will leave Auckland at 5.38 p.m. after the match. In order to meet the requirements of those people who may wish to leave the special trains at Newmarket and travel by rail to Kingsland a special shuttle passenger service will run between Newiparket and Kingsland between 10.20 a.m. and 3 p.m. at a return fare of Is irrespective of class. After the match trains will leave Kingsland for Auckland at 4.26 p.m. and 4.48 p.m.—single tickets 9d. SCALE OF FARES As a.n indication of the fares that are being charged for the special trains the following are cited by the departi ment: | Opua.—First return, 2Ss fid: second I return, 19s 3d. ! Rotorua.—First return, 26s 6d; seci ond return, ISs. Tauranga.—First return, 2Ss; second return, 19s. Taumarunui. —First return, 275; second return, ISs 6d. These fares each represent a total distance travelled of from 350 to 400 miles. For a shorter distance, such as Hamilton, the fares are:—First return, 13s 6d; second return, 9s 3d. Although it is not anticipated tnat there will be such heavy traffic for the match, Britain versus Auckland on I Saturday, the department is issuing j cheap excursion tickets from the areas j served by rail north of Taumarunui on i Friday and Saturday, and single j tickets at return fares on Saturday to j passengers travelling by trains that reach Auckland not later than 2.13 [ p.m, that day.
