INQUEST ON CYCLIST
A verdict of accidental death was returned by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday, at the adjourned inquest concerning yie death of Joshua George Clifford, aged 16, a telegraph messenger, who was knocked down by a motor-car near the corner of New and Green Streets, Ponsonby, on June
The driver of the car, Michael Buckley, said he was on the correct side of the road. Near the intersection of Green "Street a boy riding a bicycle at a fast pace came ou to the car bgfore the brakes could be applied. The view was obscured by a motor garage at the corner of Green and New Streets.
Corroborative evidence was given by H. Hiscocks ancl Richard White, a passenger in the car.
Dr. Dorothy Smith, who examined the boy on his admission to the Auckland Hospital, said that death was caused by serious internal haemorrhage. He had died four days after the accident.
