A message from Fremantle says Sir Otto Niemeyer, the noted financial authority who was invited to Australia by the Federal Ministry to consult with Mr. Scullin upon the country’s finance, arrived by the liner Cathay from London. DRASTIC STATE ECONOMY Reed. 10.25 a.m. MELBOURNE, Today The Victorian State Ministry is undertaking a policy of drastic economy throughout all the Government departments. It is expected all increments to public servants and teachers will be stopped in the current year and a reduction in certain salaries will be attempted.
