TAHITI FROM SAN FRANCISCO. — The Union Company has received advice that the Royal Mall liner Tahiti was dispatched from San Francisco at two o'clock last Wednesday afternoon for Wellington and Sydney, via Papeete and Rarotonga. She is due at Wellington on July 2S.

THE PORT PIRIE. The Commonwealth and Dosnlnion Line steamer Port Pirie sailed from New Plymouth for Auckland last evening to continue loading for Montevideo and London. She is due about midday tomorrow. From Auckland the vessel will proceed to Napier and Wellington to complete loading. Heather, Itoberton is the local ngent.

COLUMBIA AT WEL LI N GTON .—The. Danish motor-vessel Columbia arrived at Wellington on Thursday evening from Bunbury with a cargo of jarrali sleepers for discharge at Wellington, Napier and Auckland. She is expected to leave for Napier this evening, and is due at Auckland on July 21. Captain H. Barfoet ia in command, and his officers are; Chief, Mr. K. Mullertz; second, Mr. C. Frey; third, Mr. K. Olesen; chief engineer, Air. W. A. Jensen; second engineer, Mr. Vesterby; third engineer. Mr. Thomson; chief steward, Mr. I*. Jensen.

ASTORIA WITH PHOSPHATES.— The Danish motor-vessel Astoria arrived last evening with approximately S.OOO tons of phosphate from Nauru Island, of which 4,500 tons are for Auckland. She anchored in the stream and berthed early this morning. The vessel left Nauru Island on July 4 and experienced a moderate trip. She encountered some rough weather for a few days, which delayed her for 24 hours. The ship leaves Auckland for New Plymouth. Captain F. Heisterberg is in command and the following officers are with him;—K. Jensen.

Latest advice states that the Astoria is expected to complete unloading the local portion of her cargo in time to leave her berth for Western Wharf at noon on Friday. After having replenished her oil fuel bunkers at Western Wharf she will sail for New Plymouth to complete discharge.

• NIAGARA IN PORT.—An arrival yesterday afternoon was the Royal Mail liner Niagara, en route from Vancouver to Sydney via Victoria, Honolulu, Suva and Auckland. After the granting of pratique the vessel berthed at Prince s Wharf to land passengers, mails and cargo for New Zealand. The Niagara brought over 5,000 cases of bananas from Suva. She experienced fine weather on her voyage till after clearing Suva last Friday, when she met with moderate to fresh head winds and rough head seas and swell. These conditions held during the passage to Auckland and delayed her arrival here by over two hours. The Niagara is scheduled to sail for Sydney at 11 o’clock this evening. ROTORUA DISCHARGING. —The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Rotorua, at present at Prince's Wharf discharging the local portion of her cargo of general merchandise from London. is to be dispatched p.m. on Thursday for Wellington to complete unloading.

RANGITATA LEAVES COLON— Cabled advice has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the motor-liner RangltHta cleared Colon on July 10. She left Wellington at daybreak on June -1 for Southampton and London.

TROUBLE WITH CREW. —After being delayed for some days owing to trouble with the crew, the Union Company’s Waitemata left Wellington on Friday night for Melbourne and Svdney to complete discharge of her Pacific Coast cargo.

THE KIWITEA.— Having loaded cargo at Adelaide, Kdithburp, wallaroo and Melbourne, the Union Company’s Kiwitea is expected to clear Melbourne today for Auckland, Portland, New Plymouth. Wellington. Lyttelton, Timaru and possibly Dunedin, in that order.

KALINGO SAILS TOMORROW. —The cargo steamer Kalingo Is to clear port tomorrow evening for Napier to complete discharge of her cargo of hardwood an 1 general merchandise from Australian ports. From Napier she proceeds t-» CoflTs Harbour. Port Stephens and Newcastle to load another timber cargo for New Zealand. ARGYLLSHIRE LOADING. To continue discharge of her Liverpool cargo and to commence her Homeward loading, the. steamer Argyllshire arrived at Port Chalmers on Sunday morning. She will later proceed to New Plymouth to complete discharge and for further loading, and will subsequently load at Wanganui. Timaru. Lyttelton. Wellington. Napier, Gisborne. Tokomaru Bay and Auckland. She is due here on August 21. and is scheduled to sail finally from Auckland on August 23 for London, Avonmouth. Liverpool, Manchester, and Glasgow, via the Panama Canal.

PORT WAIKATO ARRIVES. —On her first visit to Auckland the intercolonial motor-shin Port Waikato arrived from Port Stephens on Sunday morning.
