I-I e was unlucky to bump up against such a fit horse as Havering, and that the latter could give the Northerner 321 b and a beating of half a length indicates just how good a horse Havering is now. It is rare indeed that a horse drawn number 14 at the almost straight six barrier, and actually starting from the far side of the course, should get to the rails within half a furlong. A Winter Champion Yet that was what Havering did on Thursday, and shows just how good a horse he is under winter conditions. It also indicates what a mighty proposition Prince of Orange was being put up against last Saturday. In the Winter Cup Havering is not badly treated with 10.11, or half a stone less than he won with at Trentham. The chestnut should get the mile all right, but is he good enough to beat Toxeuma and Historic at a difference of only Sib and 91b, respectively?
